Motor Pairing Considerations

Most customers speak to us before purchasing to ensure compatibility with:

  • Load profile: Is the motor driving a constant load, variable load, or shock loads?
  • Duty cycle: Continuous vs intermittent use, peak vs average power demand.
  • Environment: Marine (corrosion, humidity), agriculture (dust, mud), motorsport (heat, vibration).
  • Power/torque curve (does the motor deliver the torque at the speed you need?).
  • Cooling requirements (air vs liquid cooled, ventilation needs).

The Sevcon DVT software is used to calibrate and configure the following Sevcon motor controllers:

  • Gen4 Size 2s (All voltages).
  • Gen4 Size 4s (All voltages).
  • Gen4 Size 6s (All voltages).

  • Gen5 Size 9
  • espAC
  • Clearview Display
  • High Voltage DCDCs

VOLTSPORT IS AN OFFICIAL LICENSE DISTRIBUTOR FOR THE DVT SOFTWARE. If you require a license and you already have the IXXAT dongle, go ahead and contact us on licenses@voltsport.co.uk.

The following controllers cannot be configured using DVT:

  • MillipaK
  • PowerPaK
  • MicroPaK
  • SmartView Display


The DVT software only works with the IXXAT dongle, which we can also supply -it will not work with any other type of dongle. Upon purchase of the IXXAT dongle with us, we will supply the basics to get you started.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes most products have a standard warranty, motors and controllers have extended warranty; used or second-hand products will not have warranty, but your purchase will still be protected. We would never sell you a product we have not inspected ourselves.

What happens if I don't like it?

If you are facing technical issues, let us help you first. We know how tricky it can be with wires, pins and complicated tools so let us see if we can figure it out first. In the chance that your product is defective, then you can use our returns process.

How fast is shipping?

UK Economy - 4 Days

UK Express 2-3 Days

International shipping can vary.

Items can also be collected from our facilities, but please advise us when you want to collect and access to forklift truck etc.
